I fell off the wagon. Hard.

Okay, blog. I'm not going to feel guilty about ignoring you. No, I'm not. You know why? Because you don't have human emotions, you don't have goals, you don't have ambitions, and you're not going anywhere.

We have a lot in common, blog.

my super villan calling cards

I spent today making some unbusiness uncards. I think business cards in general are boring and too serious and blaaaah. So I made these:

They're pretty adorable. The colors are sort of more subtle than what I generally use, but I like them. I would pick one of those up if I saw it somewhere.

AND I'M GOING TO LEAVE THEM EVERYWHERE. Maybe. I'll probably just give some to my mom.

My little paper charm experiment turned out HORRIBLY. The whole thing turned cloudy and blue-green. Sort of pretty, but definitely not what I was going for. At first I thought that the glaze caused the color in the paper to bleed, but I'm not so sure now. I think it could be a reaction from the copper frames...? Maybe? Let me know if that's ridiculous.

So to cheer myself up from that blatant failure, I made this:

Success! I like painting; I like jewelry; I like flowers, and tada. I was feeling springy so I did the glass beads in blue and yellow. The little charm is made from a piece of mirror. It's so shiny! I'm in love. Again, Pretty Adorable. And in my shop.

Doesn't it look like a little pressed flower under glass? Cuuute.

Lollipop Hiatus

I took a break from lollipop creations today to make some neat charmy things. I'm not quite sure what they are yet, but I think they're pretty charming.

I'm really into gold lately. A few years I couldn't stand gold. It reminded me of old ladies fifty percent of the time and the eighties the rest of the time. But I guess the eighties are coming back and I'm becoming an old lady. So gold's time has come for me.

Anyway, I set some recycled paper into little button frames. After I figure out the best way to glaze these and, more importantly, how to attach them to anything, they're probably going to become a pretty adorable charm bracelet.

I want to start a series called "Pretty Adorable."

About the lollipops, I think I'm going to try a gloss finish on them from now on. I did matte last time because I wanted them to look as real as possible, but I see how that is kind of, well, gross. But if I put a gloss finish on them they just look like they've been in someone's mouth. Life is so hard!

10:35pm

10:35 pm - the world is out of Diamond Glaze. starting to shake.

I just can't throw anything out

So, I try to repurpose as much as I can. It's good financially, it's good for the environment...it's good. But you would think I could draw the line at food. Apparently not.

When I came upon this today, I just couldn't let it go. A whole bowl of lollipops leftover from Halloween! They have a lot in common with my other crafting supplies. They're colorful, abundant, and outlived their usefulness. So lollipop earrings are the obvious next step.

After a little trial and error, I came up with something pretty adorable.

I kind of love them! If only I had pierced ears. I could actually see myself getting my ears pierced for these. Potentially.

I'm so excited that I have a whole bowl of lollipops to play with! I'm experimenting with different kinds of jewelry (and furniture) with them at the moment.

These are up in my new etsy shop if anyone is interested.
